Thank you for a wonderful Tea Fest

Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the Northwest Tea Festival this weekend. This was our first year with a booth, and the first time World Spice has done an event like it as a company. Our retail team filled a U-Haul with everything it takes to build a tea shop inside an exhibition hall. There was the display shelf and a brewing cart, teapots and warmers and tea lights, a kettle and a hot pot to share the booth's one outlet, a rainbow chalkboard, bookmarks and tip cards, and stacks of tea tins. We unloaded it all at Seattle Center Exhibition Hall on Friday afternoon and spent Saturday and Sunday pouring samples and talking tea with all of you. Everyone at the booth had a wonderful time, and left feeling inspired, excited, and so grateful.

On Saturday we poured Midnight Berry, Firefly Garden,Onyx Rose, and Mediterranean Mountain. For the first three hours, the line for Midnight Berry and Firefly Garden ran eight to ten people deep.

Midnight Berry smells like a blueberry muffin, and you taste the warmth of Star Anise and Cinnamon first, with chamomile and elderflower underneath. Thanks to the Butterfly Pea Flower in the blend, it brews a deep blue. Squeeze in some lemon, lime, or orange and you can watch the cup turn a pinky purple.

Firefly Garden is an herbal tea with a generous scoop of Pink and Green Peppercorns, so you get real heat alongside floral Chrysanthemum Flower and citrusy Lemongrass. We nearly sold out of it by Sunday afternoon.

A lot of you also stopped to tell us how good the booth looked and we’d like to acknowledge everyone that had a hand in it. @Porter designed and created our beautiful tin labels. Our warehouse team worked tirelessly to freshly pack every tin and get them to Seattle. @Nicole L. , our Director of Retail, planned every piece of our display, then built a full mock-up of the booth in her driveway and adjusted it until it was just right. She stained the display shelf herself a few days before setup. Our team at the Tea Fest rocked the booth and brought all their tea joy. And of course our team at the shop held down the fort and gave a warm welcome to everyone who stopped by after the festival to check out the store. An event like this takes many hands, and we’re lucky to have some of the best around.
